If you look at the careers of other deputy chairmen, they usually dataset start working at the Central Bank in lower positions. You immediately took up this position. How did that happen?
Before joining the Bank of Russia
I worked for a long time in commercial structures, and had been in high positions for a long time. To be honest, I had no intention or plans to move to the Central Bank. But Elvira Sakhipzadovna [Nabiullina, Chairperson of the Central Bank] got me interested in the tasks that needed to be done. She invited me at the beginning of 2014, when many projects needed to be implemented: NSPK, the Financial Message Transfer System, and then projects such as biometrics and the SBP appeared.
