“I organized a trip to New York for 80 people”

New York … who has never dreamed of staying there? This dream has become reality for 80 teenagers aged 14 to 18 registered for our I love New York! stay during the All Saints’ Day holidays in 2023.

In order to conquer the Big Apple, the stay focused on the essentials: the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, as well as more fun outings such as dinner in Times Square.

Before explaining how I organized the trip, I’ll let you discover who I am by clicking here .

1. The construction of the program

I chose a duration of 10 days in order to optimize the time on site and to adapt to the availability malaysia email list of the young people during the All Saints’ Day holidays. A shorter stay would not have allowed for an optimal experience, and then I think that we must pay attention to our carbon footprint: travel perhaps less often but a little longer.

Why the All Saints’ Day holidays? This is a stay that I also offer in the summer, but the destination is also beautiful in the fall and a little less crowded. In every season, this city is worth a look.

Regarding the dates, I didn’t have much flexibility given the chosen period. So I paid attention to the price lob directory of the plane tickets and the availability of the youth hostel. For so many young people it wasn’t easy but thanks to our expertise (because it’s not the first time we’ve organized this trip to New York) we made it happen!

When choosing activities, I based my decision on the opinions of young York for 80 people” people who had already participated in this trip. I researched the destination and also talked to my colleagues who had already stayed there. The goal was to create unforgettable content and plan some great highlights during the trip.

For the order of activities in the program, I tried to create a logic by studying the routes between each activity in order to visit by zone to avoid any unnecessary travel. I also leave the possibility to the animators of the stay to add activities to the program according to the wishes of the how to highlight experience abroad on your cv? participants (while setting a budget for these additional activities).

2. After programming, production!

As a travel agent at VERDIÉ HELLO, we are both the designers and producers of our stays. So I created the program (as explained in part 1), and then I designed it.

I made all possible reservations with the youth hostel, activity and catering venues. There were some activities that I was able to book in advance, others had to be booked directly on site by our group leaders. In order to facilitate the visit to the main monuments, I booked a City Pass in advance, including a package of 3 visits. Thanks to this, the group leaders can book the time slot that suits them best and on the day of the visit: this saves the group from having to queue.

For this discovery trip to New York, I calculated a meal budget that I credited to a bank card, sent to the organizers before departure. I did the same for the budget for activities and transportation (use of public transportation on site).
